PLA File Manager – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-27

PLA File Manager is a local file manager. This policy explains how the app handles your data. It is the same text shown inside the app (menu → Privacy Policy).

1. All files access

On Android 11 and later the app asks for the “All files access” (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) permission. On Android 10 it asks for the storage read/write permissions. This access is used only for the app’s core file management features: browsing folders and storage drives, and copying, moving, renaming, deleting, compressing, extracting, previewing, editing and sharing files that you choose.

Duplicate file finder: when you tap “Find duplicate files”, the app reads the files on your internal and external storage on the device to compare their contents using checksums. The checksums exist only in memory during the search and are never stored or sent anywhere. Files are deleted only if you select them and confirm.

Storage cleanup: when you open “Storage cleanup”, the app checks the names, sizes and dates of files on your device’s storage to suggest items you may want to remove, such as thumbnail caches, empty folders and old downloads. This check happens only on the device; nothing is stored or sent anywhere. Files are deleted only if you select them and confirm. Cleanup frees storage space; it does not claim to make your device faster.

2. Data collection and sharing

The app does not collect, store, sell or transmit any personal data or file contents. All file operations happen locally on your device. The app has no internet permission, no account system, and contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.

3. Sharing files

When you tap “Share”, the selected files are handed to the app you pick in the Android share sheet through a temporary, read-only link. What that app does with the files is governed by its own privacy policy.

4. Installing apps

When you tap an APK file, the app hands it to the Android system installer. For this it uses the “Install unknown apps” (REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES) permission, which you can allow or revoke in Android settings. The app never downloads apps and never installs anything unless you confirm it in the system installer.

5. Notifications

While a long copy, move, compress or extract operation is running, the app shows a progress notification so the operation can finish if you leave the app. The notification contains only the operation progress.

6. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published in the app and on this page.
